Security Corner

Aviation security threads through all processes at Lufthansa Cargo.

The importance attached to it is brought home by this page which details the sweeping security measures taken by Lufthansa Cargo in the course of its business activities.  We wish to keep you posted with news about ongoing developments in respect of air cargo security. Worldwide regulation of the security regime has increased the pressure on all logistics services providers to take action on the issue over the past ten years.

When implementing official security requirements mandated by international authorities for air cargo, we do far more than the law requires.

Among our major measures in recent years, we have set up additional security branch offices in New York and Johannesburg, installed cutting-edge security technology, laid on intensive training for the staff, taken steps to keep aircraft parked on the airport apron under constant surveillance, enforced rigorous and more costly handling procedures and upgraded our IT environment. With our security hubs in Frankfurt and Munich and our premium security stations Shanghai, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles and New York, Chicago, Atlanta, Dallas, Los Angeles, Mexico, Johannesburg, Istanbul, Amsterdam and Milano Segrate, we are setting international standards. Further security hubs are in the pipeline for 2010.

Lufthansa Cargo does not pay mere lip service to security, we have made it integral to the quality we promise and a basic premise of our corporate culture.
